What is Microsoft Money?

Microsoft Money is a personal finance software developed by Microsoft. It was specifically designed for computers running the Microsoft Windows operating system. While there were versions available for Windows Mobile, they were only compatible with select versions and did not include Windows Mobile 5.0.

The most recent version of Microsoft Money, called Microsoft Money Plus, was released in August 2007. It offered four editions: Essentials, Deluxe, Premium, and Home & Business. Each edition catered to different financial needs and goals.

However, on June 10, 2009, Microsoft announced that it would discontinue sales of Microsoft Money, with the final day of sales being June 30, 2009. This decision left many users wondering about the future of the software and seeking alternatives.

To address this concern, Microsoft introduced Microsoft Money Plus Sunset on August 5, 2010. This release served as a replacement for expired versions of Microsoft Money Essentials, Deluxe, Premium, and Home & Business. The software provided full functionality, except for online services, and allowed for unlimited installations and re-installations without the need for activation.
